About Clonmel

Clonmel is one of Ireland’s most dynamic towns. Steeped in history and alive with industry it offers much to residents and visitors alike. It is the largest town in county Tipperary with a population of almost 18,000 people. It is the capital of South Tipperary, which has a population of almost 84,000.

Clonmel is host to an impressive range of leading international companies. Organisations such as Abbott Vascular, Boston Scientific, Bulmers, Kentz/SNC-Lavalin, Merck, Sharp & Dohme, Pinewood Healthcare and Sepam have chosen to base themselves in the town.   Our SME sector is one of the largest and most diverse in Ireland. Companies using technology to further their business work alongside organisations that have employed generations of Clonmel people.

This vibrant local economy is well served by a rich array of businesses in both the town centre and its outskirts.

The historic town centre has witnessed bloody battles, innovations in transport, the founding of political parties and many other events. Today, it is a bustling commercial location with an enviable mix of retailers.

In recent years many large brand name retailers have chosen Clonmel as the starting point for their entry in to the Irish market. They have chosen it because of its central location with a large catchment market. Clonmel sits in the south east of Ireland, which has a population of over 650,000. It is less than an hour from the cities of Cork, Kilkenny, Limerick and Waterford.
Clonmel is an ideal location for business.
