Clonmel was honoured on Friday with the visit of Minister Simon Coveney. Councillor Michael Murphy very kindly facilitated the Chamber of Commerce by arranging this meeting in Hotel Minella. The Minister updated the audience with initiatives on housing {new project in Ardgeeha} and infrastructure spending to come. He also updated the audience on the National Planning Framework 2040 , upcoming legislation on business rates and water charges. Thereafter there was a question and answer session, with business rates being to the fore. Conor Moroney {our Member} put some very good questions on business rates and car parking to the Minister. The Minister replied with a very detailed response. Thank you to the Minister for taking time out of his busy schedule to talk to business leaders in Clonmel. We must thank Michael Murphy for organising this meeting and his great support for local business. It shouldn't be forgotten that the business people in attendance took time out to attend this event. Last but not least compliments to Hotel Minella for the hospitality and a job well done.
