We want every cardholder and every business to enjoy a smooth and easy experience. While card declines are uncommon, they can happen and thankfully, the reasons are simple and quick to sort out. 1️⃣ The business has recently changed their card machine Sometimes a retailer updates or replaces their payment terminal without notifying us. When the new machine isn’t connected to the Love Tipperary system yet, the gift card may decline. How to fix it: A quick re‑onboarding is all that’s needed: ✔️ Takes just a couple of minutes ✔️ Can be done over the phone ✔️ Or via a self‑registration link (Scroll up) 2️⃣ The card balance is lower than the purchase amount If the total at the till is higher than the balance on your card, the transaction will automatically decline.
