Managing teams in the current workplace has become more complex and demanding. Teams may be on site, hybrid or fully remote and this requires a management style that creates empathy, trust and demonstrates leadership.

In recent decades sweeping reengineering, digitisation, and agile initiatives—and lately the move to remote work—have dramatically transformed the job of managers...Managers now have to think about making their teams successful, rather than being served by them; coach performance, not oversee tasks; and lead in rapidly changing, more-fluid environments.

Harvard Business Review, March 2022

“The role of the manager, in short, is becoming that of a coach.”

Companies and organisations need to develop and progress their teams in this very challenging and ever-changing world. The ability to be able to use ‘Coaching Language and to hold Coaching Conversations’ is a vital tool for today’s managers.

This programme will explore how a coaching approach allows managers to listen more effectively, communicate more clearly and build stronger teams.

  • Define what coaching is and understand the managers role in the process
  • Learn how to create a positive coaching environment
  • Approach challenging feedback situations with confidence
  • Use a ‘coaching framework’ to provide successful coaching conversations

Programme Details:

  • Current challenges in managing teams
  • How can coaching skills support today’s manager?
  • Understanding the key elements of a ‘coaching conversation’
  • Key tools and techniques in developing a ‘coaching style of management’
  • Communication Skills: active listening, questioning, giving feedback
  • Introducing a coaching framework for effective interventions

The workshop will be participatory, interactive and enjoyable, with deep learning opportunities and space for skills practice. Theory and Learning will be integrated into practice with feedback as you develop your skills over two days.Coaching demonstrations on real life scenarios will also be given as examples of how ‘coaching conversations’ can result in effective change in your organisation or company.
